What are Best Practices?

Urban Management represents many common problems to policy makers in both develop and developing countries initiatives have been taken to combat these problems & initiatives with merit are called "Best Practices". Best Practices are outstanding contributions to improve the living environment. Successful initiatives are those which:

• suggest that they can and should be replicated and ideas can and should be generated from them, and that they can and should contribute to policy development. have a demonstrable and tangible impact on improving people’s quality of life in urban sector;

• are the result of effective partnerships between the public, private and civic sectors of society;

• are socially, culturally, economically and environmentally sustainable.
